The Marks of a Great Church: Part 4

Home > Pastor's Blog > The Marks of a Great Church: Part 4

The fourth mark of a great church is faith. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, Paul tells us that we are to walk by faith not by sight. To often in the church, we are the exact opposite of what Paul writes in 2 Cor. 5:7. To often in the church, we walk by sight not by faith. We are comfortable doing things as long as it makes sense. We are comfortable doing things as long as it adds up.

But what happens when God calls us to do something that makes no senses? What happens when God calls us to things that do not add up? Do we say no to God and miss out on what God wants us to do? Do we take a step of faith even when things don’t make sense and don’t add up?

Remember, we are a people of faith. Faith means that we say yes to God when things don’t add up. Faith means that we are obedient to God even when thinks make no sense.
